IshQ Bector

ishQ Bector is back on the Indian music scene with his first Punjabi album, “Saali Bitch!” Backed by Universal Music, the disc showcases the numerous faces of ishQ. Leading off is the title track, a controversial club banger, followed by the bright, humor-infused, shaadi dance number “Happy Singh.” In contrast, the more romantic side of the album presents an emotional drama in “Mere Siva,” and a gritty, darker side of ishQ in “Sifar.”

India’s most popular hip-hop artist is a renowned rapper, singer, dancer, music composer, producer and actor. Born and raised in Canada, ishQ Bector has now made Mumbai is home. He first burst onto Indian television with the now famous “Aye Hip Hopper” music video. The “Dakku Daddy” album went on to become the most popular non-film album of 2008. Subsequently, ishQ participated in the hit TV series “Iss Jungle se Mujhe Bachao!” (the Indian version of “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here!”)

In addition to his successful TV presence, ishQ was born to set live stages on fire with his explosive dance moves and captivating performances. This multi-talented Gemini has shared the stage with many international artists, notably Sean Paul, Mobb Deep, John Cena (WWE), and others. In his second album, this crowd-pleaser co-stars with Bollywoods drama queen Rakhi Sawant. The videos “Bhoot,” and “Jhagde,” feature impressive dance performances by both artists.

For Bollywood, ishQ has written, produced and sang for films such as Ugly aur Pagli, Allay ke Bandey, Race, and many others. He has also lit up the silver screen in big-banner movies “Barsaat,” and “Karle Gunaah” with the sensational Mallika Sherawat. After perfecting his skills at the famous Roshal Taneja film studio and Muadhumathi’s Academy in Mumbai, ishQ hosted shows on MTV, B4U and Channel V. His fans still can’t believe how many bakras he’s made in the streets of India while co-hosting “Bindass Live” for UTV!

However, Bector is no stranger to the vital efforts required to create music in a studio. ishQ has spent countless hours working with and understanding today’s top players Himesh Reshamiya, Pritam, Vishal-Shekar, Salim-Suleman, Sajid-Wajid, and Anu Malik. A mad scientist in his lab, IshQ’s dream is to be amongst the next generation of music directors for Bollywood cinema.
